
Teaching Portfolio (UKSPF)
A reflection summary is provided in here to demonstrate my reflections according to the five areas of activities in the UKSPF, and the links to the other dimensions. As part of the assessment, I need to collect evidence/examples and make comments regarding each dimension in line with education theories. I feel this blog might be helpful for anyone who is preparing the application of HEA membership due to it provides a summary of relevant theories regarding A1-5, which might not have covered in the training course.
UKPSF was used by Higher Education Agency (HEA) for recognition and accreditation of education professionals, and this framework can facilitate practitioners to make their continuing professional plan (HEA, 2011, 2012). Some research shows that positive impact of UKSPF can be found from education professionals, and some staff have made changes in their practice after the implementation (Turner et al., 2013; Van der Sluis et al., 2017), due to this framework can be perceived as teaching excellence framework within higher education (Law, 2011; Thornton, 2014). The analysis of the links amongst each dimension within this framework is demonstrated in Figure 1. This figure is developed for this assessment to illustrate the interconnections or links between each dimension as suggested by the HEA.
